Nolin Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation (KY) Selects McLean Engineering for Pole Attachment Inventory and Consulting for Nolin and Fort Knox

Nolin Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation (Nolin RECC) of Elizabethtown, Ky., recently selected McLean Engineering Company to provide an inventory of joint use pole attachments and to provide consultation on attachment management for Nolin’s electric distribution system, as well as the electric distribution system on Fort Knox, Ky., which is owned and operated by Nolin RECC through a utilities privatization contract with the U.S. Government.

As part of its joint use and pole attachment agreements, Nolin RECC is due to conduct a pole attachment count and joint use inventory on its system. The Corporation selected McLean Engineering to provide this count in an effort to collect updated information on a GIS basis, improve relationships with its attachers, and clean up issues related to attachments.

McLean’s attachment management support helps to develop, update and oversee a utility's joint use contracts and day-to-day implementation of all obligations related to pole attachments, with the potential to improve relationships with attachers, as well as save the utility money lost due to an inefficient attachment process.

McLean works with many municipalities, cooperatives and state trade organizations to navigate through joint-use concerns by providing expertise in all areas related to joint-use and pole attachment matters.
