Our History
McLean Engineering was established in 1936 by E. Price McLean, in an era in which many of the Southeastern co-ops were first coming online. Mr. McLean, in fact, helped collect signatures to establish many of the electric cooperatives in Florida and Georgia. Our founders played key roles in organizing many REA cooperatives, planning and configuring the power systems that provide energy to many homes and businesses across the region. Our projects and records span over eight decades, and McLean Engineering Company has over 85 years of experience serving electric utility clients not just in the Southeast, but throughout the United States.
That heritage is a big part of who McLean is today. While our technology has advanced and our solutions are forward-thinking, our values are timeless and our commitment to service is as old-fashioned as the hand-drawn plans in our archives. It’s why, decade after decade, we’ve been the consultant of choice for many utilities who have come to trust our sound judgment and proven implementation strategies.
Our history, complemented by our values, has earned us a reputation as a firm that acts with integrity, does right by its client, and truly knows power engineering.
Some things only time can teach.
