Berkeley Electric Cooperative Selects McLean Engineering For Underground Inspection and Testing
Berkeley Electric Cooperative (BEC) of South Carolina recently selected McLean Engineering Company to provide underground inspection and testing of its facilities. To accomplish this, McLean will create a custom inspection and testing process for all switchgears, junction cabinets, transformers, service pedestals and underground-fed light poles on Berkeley Electric’s underground system.
BEC was searching for a low-cost inspection program that would improve safety and reliability on its system, effectively track inspection data, and provide easy access to the required documentation.
McLean Engineering’s solution combines the inspectors' field experience, client requests for inspection content data extracted from existing software, and flexible mapping software. It includes:
- Inspection forms personalized to Berkeley Electric Cooperative’s needs
- Inspection records linked to BEC’s existing map data
- GPS integration for locating each piece of inspected equipment
McLean works with many cooperatives, municipalities, and state trade organizations when it comes to inspections, creating safety-focused, cost-effective, field user-friendly and easily-integrated solutions tailored to the organizations’ specific needs.
