City of Dothan, Ala., Selects McLean Engineering for Multi-Year Smart Grid Study
The City of Dothan, Ala., recently selected McLean Engineering Company to develop a construction work plan and conduct a multi-year smart grid study.
McLean Engineering will develop a multi-year plan for the construction of the utility’s electric system, including distribution, transmission, and substation planning. Included in that plan will be the development of a Milsoft model of the system.
This plan will provide the utility a roadmap for construction planning for the years 2022-26. Following the completion of the construction work plan, McLean staff will perform a smart grid study, using Dothan’s electric system model to coordinate substation and line devices in an effort to minimize outages and maximize system safety and reliability.
