Inter-County Energy Selects McLean Engineering for Pole Attachment/Joint Use Management

Inter-County Energy of Danville, Ky., recently selected McLean Engineering Company to provide pole attachment and joint use management support for its electric distribution system.

The Cooperative selected McLean Engineering to provide this support in expectation of upcoming RDOF (Rural Digital Opportunity Fund) deployments within its service territory and the anticipation of new pole attachment regulations in the state of Kentucky.

McLean’s attachment management support helps oversee day-to-day implementation of all obligations related to pole attachments, with the potential to support broadband deployment, improve relationships with attachers, and save money that could be lost due to an inefficient attachment process. McLean will provide project management and make-ready engineering services to facilitate the application process to allow new fiber attachments on the utility’s poles.

McLean works with many municipalities, cooperatives and state trade organizations to navigate through joint use and pole attachment concerns by providing expertise in all areas related to joint use and pole attachment matters.
