Blue Grass Energy Selects McLean Engineering for Pole Attachment Audit and Pole Inspection/Testing

Blue Grass Energy of Nicholasville, Ky., recently selected McLean Engineering Company to provide a joint attachment audit for its electric system. Over a five-year period, McLean will inspect over 97,000 poles on the utility’s system.

As part of its joint use and pole attachment agreements, Blue Grass Energy is due to conduct a pole attachment count and joint use inventory on its system. The cooperative selected McLean Engineering to provide this count in an effort to collect updated information on a GIS basis, improve relationships with its attachers, and clean up late transfers. 

McLean Engineering will also conduct a field review of all poles and will provide attachment height data, interpret and assess violations and determine resolution action.

McLean works with many municipalities, cooperatives and state trade organizations to navigate through joint use and pole attachment concerns by providing expertise in all areas related to joint use and pole attachment matters.
