Laurens CPW Selects McLean to Develop and Implement Joint Use/Pole Attachment Agreements
Laurens Commission of Public Works, based in Laurens, S.C., recently selected McLean Engineering Company to develop and implement joint use/pole attachment agreements with all of the utility’s existing and future attachers.
In order for Laurens CPW to achieve an effective joint use/pole attachment business function, McLean Engineering will provide support by reviewing/commenting on Laurens CPW’s active joint use/pole attachment agreements and operations; draft a new Standard of Agreement for the utility to use with all attachers; and negotiate and execute the standard agreement with all attachers.
McLean works with many municipalities, cooperatives and state trade organizations to navigate through joint use concerns by providing expertise in all areas related to joint use and pole attachment matters.

About Laurens CPW
The Laurens CPW began providing electricity in the 1920s. Its service territory is primarily inside the city limits of Laurens and the Wattsville area. In the 1970s, the CPW joined with other municipal power companies to create the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency (PMPA). PMPA purchased 25 percent of a nuclear generator at the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant in York, SC. Nuclear energy from the plant is CPW's current primary power supply, meaning that over 90% of the power generated is carbon free. Laurens CPW’s mission is to provide reliable, neighborly service to our customers and the community in the safest, most efficient and effective manner possible. To learn more, visit lcpw.com.
