College Park Power Selects McLean Engineering for GIS Mapping

College Park Power of College Park, Ga., has selected McLean Engineering Company to provide GIS mapping services.

College Park Power has selected McLean Engineering’s MapLayers program, a GIS platform built with municipal utilities in mind. MapLayers’ cloud-based, user-friendly software offers powerful functions for electric utility mapping, joint use attachment counts, as well as other utilities and city departments and mobile accessibility. Most importantly, this approach is low-cost and flexible, which allows College Park Power to maintain flexibility and control of its data and makes it easy to afford the cost of keeping maps up-to-date – the most essential function of any map.  

College Park Power has worked with McLean Engineering to include a variety of layers and information sources on its map, including various electric layers, such as consumers, poles, lights, switches, devices, transformers, conductor, and substations.  College Park Power is able to use an AutoCAD file in managing its data, then access the same file from the field using McLean’s hosted solution.
